Program Information
Weekend Warriors is designed for intermediate to advanced riders who want to challenge themselves, refine their skills and explore new trails without the pressure of competition. Sessions are centred around guided group rides across a variety of trail networks, with coaches selecting routes to match the group’s ability. There are also plenty of opportunities for the group to stop and focus on specific features or sections of trail, explore techniques and build confidence.
Through exposure to different terrains, features and trail styles, riders naturally develop technical skills, decision-making ability and trail awareness—building the confidence to take on new challenges and enjoy everything mountain biking has to offer.
The Weekend Warriors program runs weekly on Saturday mornings during the summer season (Terms 4 & 1)

More Information
Required Equipment
Riders must bring a mountain bike in good working order, suited for a wide range of trail types including climbs, technical features and longer rides. Cross country, trail and enduro bikes are ideal and both hardtail and dual suspension bikes are acceptable.
Downhill bikes are not appropriate for this program as they are not suited to the climbing and mixed-terrain riding involved.
Bikes must have:
- Working brakes
- Working gears
- Covered/plugged handlebar ends
We encourage riders to consider the protective equipment they choose in relation to the level of risk they intend to take on. Riders who choose to wear less protective equipment should ride within their known level of ability while additional protection may afford riders the opportunity to push themselves more without significantly increasing their risk of injury. This is a very personal decision and riders are ultimately responsible for their own safety. We strongly urge all participants to take the time to properly consider what level of protection is most appropriate for them.
Some basic items we highly recommend are:
- Gloves
- Knee guards
- Open-face helmet (for low-risk riding)
- Full-face helmet and goggles (for high-risk riding)
If you are unsure if your equipment is appropriate, please feel free to contact us for help.
